Sport Polar Expedition is a citrus aromatic fragrance with notes of grapefruit and lime.
Nuit Austral Expedition is a spicy woody fragrance with notes of three citrus fruits, leather, vetiver, and amberwood.
Oceanic Expedition is a citrus aromatic fragrance with notes of grapefruit, bergamot, sea notes, ginger, and white musk.
All three scents convey a theme of man exploring the elements, a combination of sport and raw emotions. From Sport Polar creating an image of being alone in the Alaskan Wilderness among polar ice caps as far as the eye can see, to Oceanic instilling a mastering of a ship upon tumultuous ocean waves, and Nuit Austral envisioning a nighttime trek through the Australian outback.
In general, it has been said that Issey Miyake’s fashions and perfumes convey a sense of humor and make light use of multilingual puns such as L’eau d’Issey the French word l’Odysee meaning “odyssey” in English. Another being the fragrance A Scent, launched in 2009, which could be interpreted as “ascent by Issey Miyake.”
